Mike Schultz was born and raised in Weber County, where the values of hard work, personal responsibility and community shaped the course of his life.
Before entering public service, Mike built a career as a small-business owner and general contractor. He knows firsthand what it means to meet a payroll, manage employees, navigate regulations and make the decisions necessary to keep a business moving forward.
Mike and his family also own and operate a ranch in Croydon. That experience has kept him closely connected to Utah’s agricultural heritage and to the families whose livelihoods depend on the land, water and natural resources that make our state unique.
Above all, Weber County is home. It is where Mike and his wife raised their six children and where their family continues to put down roots for the next generation.

Bringing a Businessman’s Approach to State Government
Mike was first elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 2014 and began representing his community in 2015. He brought with him the perspective of someone who had spent his career in the private sector—focused on solving problems, managing budgets and getting results.
His colleagues selected him to serve as Speaker of the Utah House of Representatives in November 2023.
As Speaker, Mike has worked to keep Utah on the path that has made it one of the strongest states in the nation: disciplined spending, lower taxes, strong schools, responsible growth and investment in the infrastructure Utah families and businesses depend on.
